Phonics Steps to Reading Success ~ For Students
Phonics Steps to Reading Success begins with the study of vowels. If the student does not know his/her consonants, these letter/sounds must be learned first. The instructor can use a commercially developed product or consonant letter/sound flash cards, for sample, using a picture of bat /b/, cat /c/, dish /d/, etc. Phonics Steps makes use of the best available research for teaching phonemic awareness and word decoding skills. The program has demonstrated results and offers students of all skill-levels and backgrounds something many never thought possible, the ability to read with confidence.
Phonics Steps is intended for youngsters to adult students who have difficulty reading, spelling and comprehending texts.
Many students have gaps in their reading skills.
The Phonics Steps program has proven effective with:
- Learning disabled and at-risk students
- Illiterate and functionally illiterate adults
I am very proud of myself and I owe it all to Pat Doran's PSRS program. I attended Pat Doran's reading-improvement class. Since grade school, I have been in special education classes because was never taught phonics. I was only taught to memorize words and to guess at words. Pat Doran's class has helped me a great deal. I am reading better now and I can see myself improving in reading. I am very proud of myself and I owe it all to Pat Doran's phonics program.
